Avasam welcomes Matthew Franklin to the team
As we begin the new year, the Avasam team are delighted to officially welcome Matt Franklin to the team. Matt has been working with us for the past 18 months on a consultancy basis and from January 2022, he’ll be with us permanently as Head Of Trading And Supplier Partnerships.
Matt is an accomplished director with 30 years of experience in combining cross-functional competencies in staff management, operations planning, customer retention and financial management. He’s an expert in boosting net margin, quality, and performance, as well as creating and executing standard operating policies and procedures to positively impact organisational goals.
In addition to Matt’s experience, he is absolutely passionate about eCommerce, and is looking forward to helping us to serve sellers and suppliers even further. If you saw our SaleYee webinar, you’ll have seen him offering some outstanding advice, and we’re looking forward to seeing him in future events, both online and (assuming COVID-19 finally gives us a break!) in person.

With such extensive experience, Matt has already helped to shape and direct the team and the strategy, and has been key to bringing several exciting new suppliers to the platform. Matt is also the Founder & Director of Omnisource Ltd, and in this role will continue to offer specialist services to retailers, suppliers, and manufacturers. Prior to launching Omnisource Ltd, Matt was the Head Of Buying, Merchandising, Sourcing And Compliance for twelve years at Ideal Shopping Direct, a leading TV shopping channel in the UK.
Outside of work, Matt is happily married with a grown-up daughter. He’s a keen chef, following two years at the College Of Food And Domestic Art before moving into retail and buying, with various sourcing trips to the Far East leading him to some unusual faire. Chicken Testicles in Chinese Brandy, Frog embryo in ginger sauce for dessert, as well as chicken feet – although he’s firmly of the opinion that there is nothing better than a well-cooked steak!
